The rest

We're back now so I can post! So starting where we left off: The White house was really cool, that same day we got a tour of the library of congress as well of the capitol. On Friday we went to Montpelier, the home of James Madison. It was really cool because it was constitution day and we got in free!! There was also a big presentation. Saturday we did Baptisms for the Dead and did all sorts of other fun stuff in D.C. On Sunday we went to Arlington Cemetery and Church with dad's old mission companion and his Family. On Monday we Went to Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's home and we went to James Monroe's house because it is literally 2 miles from Monticello and we got done at Monticello before Monroe's Closed. Then we drove down do Virginia beach, and went to the ocean for a while and went to bed, our hotel was right on the beach, you crossed a bike path and the board walk and you were on sand! It was really cool! On Tuesday we played at the beach all day pretty much, Wednesday was that same pretty much but A big north America world champion sand sculpting starting, two hotels down from us! It was amazing what the people could do with just a pile of sand. On Thursday we played in the ocean in the morning and checked out from that hotel, and had lunch at this awesome Breakfast Buffet place then we drove down to Norfolk and saw the U.S.S Wisconsin(there's a naval base there) we didn't go on a tour because it was 90 degrees and humid. But it was really cool to see. So we went back to hotel and swam and vegged. Then Friday Morning we flew out. It was a really fun trip but we are all happy and sad to be home! We came home to a happy dog, healthy horses(besides that bailey through a shoe, she tells you when she needs trimmed!) and cats well, just being themselves. Slideshow coming soon???

To spare you all the gorry details I will just say that we killed a ginormous RAT in our tack room today! It was pretty intense.




The joys of owning property! You get skunks eating your cat food and Heifers in you garden and so much more, this my friends is my life!

Outlaw Days 2010

Today was Outlaw days. We were in the Parade for my dad's campaign I walked Hank in it and then we ran home, saddled the horses and went over to the arena. We forgot the camera so I don't have any pictures. Caleb won the calf riding(all 3 of the boys did it) and I did barrels and poles. On barrels my time was 25.something and on poles my time was 35. something. It was kind of cool, because my goal times were 25 for barrels and 35 for poles!! After I just finished poles I was doing the half circle that I usually do right after my run so I don't run right into the gate(I've tried that and I almost FLEW out of the saddle!) but Bailey didn't want to stop after the half circle and I kind of lost my hold and almost fell off! I was like half on for a couple of seconds! Jared did barrels too(he didn't want to do poles). It was a fun day! Fanny got to go too because it was a travel opportunity, to meet new horses, be around lots of new sounds, etc. we didn't compete on her though. She just got to watch! And thankfully it didn't rain! It was supposed to earlier this month when we looked and we were watching it throughout the week and then one day it said it was only supposed to be cloudy! And it was PERFECT for a rodeo. I wore a short sleeved shirt even!

New puppy!!

Yesterday we got a new puppy from our friends in Dietrich! She is a Border Collie/Unknown(mut) She is a yellowish grayish color with black spots. Lastnight was sure FUN!! She was yelping all night it felt like, We also went to Twin Yesterday to get all of the gear, since she is long haired she needs grommed and so we got brushes to groom her with. In target in the $1 bins thay just happened to have puppy stuff on sale, we got a really cute collar(that is way to big, she's wearing the cat's right now), a new leash, new doggie bowls that are soooooo cute and we got her a couple of toys. Oh, and Puppy chow.

And so for family home evening we picked her up, went to Twin, And had a whisper family council(dad said that talking loudly hurt his ears) about the name and so we Decided on Lucy(I wanted to spell it Luci or Lucie). Hank likes her, but is jealous for all the attention!!

What to post...???

Hmmmm, I can't think of anything to post! Other then we have cousins over for 3 days and we have to do chores! Yesterday we also went to the swimming hole. We had lots of fun! The majority of the time was spent waiting for Tanner to catch a fish or for him to give up. Hank had a BLAST!!! Hmmmmmm, anything else? Oh, I almost missed a BIG one! The IDEA portfolio's are due on Tuesday. So it's been kind of CRAZY!!! We have write a bunch of reports and all sorts of other things. And the weather has been BEAUTIFUL! Yesterday the thermometer said it was about 98, and it was only supposed to be 89!! Other then that nothing much as come up...for now!

Friday night we were able to spend the night at Kristen's house!!! Mom and dad where able to go to SLC!!

On Friday we got to their house at ten(in the morning!) and we played outside all day!! Breck was soooooooooo exited to WIN a rope from Sid the contest was like this: Sid took the "horns" off of the Jake steer(special roping dummy without legs) and told him that if he could rope it 5 times just the horn "spot" then he could have the rope, after about 15 to 20 minutes(maybe longer!) he got it!! He was really exited. Then we roped the Jake steer some more and went and watched a movie and went to bed...Oh, and Casey came over and roped too, I ran the shoots and rode Chex! This happened before all the other "ropin stuff" occurred. While we roped I got sunbrned REALLY bad!

SATURDAY!!! I was invited to go to the ropin school in Hagerman with Sid and Breck! It was so much fun! And Casey even let me warm his horse up!(Thanks Casey!) It was a looongggg day...but fun! I played with "the girls" a lot(Katelyn, Kayla, and Kylee) and Katelyn brought her friend Ariel too! Lots...let me rephrase that...TONS of fun! Besides maybe Kaylyn(sp?), (she didn't turn as many as Breck did though). Other then that Breck(the only kid..and is 8) was the best header(headers rope the head and heelers rope the hind legs) there! Good job Breck he is REALLY good! Kylee ended up coming home with us and Breck ended up with Casey! And when we got back Michelle was at their house!(I act like you know all of these people). And I practiced setting Mate(Mater) up for showmanship! And I put sunscreen on about 10 times...no sunburn from Saturday!

And yes, lots of driving the toro and 4 wheelers! And no...we didn't play rugby. Oh, well. Maybe next time! And Hank had a blast, with Cody and Crash and Miss Foxy Roxy!

Happy Birthday to Hank!!!

Just so everyone knows, (not that anyone cares) yesterday was Hank's(yes the dog!!) birthday!!! He is now four, he is already is turning gray!! Ha, so is my nineteen year old horse!!! We made him a little cake that consisted of four dog bisuits, and a tiny little bowl!!! And yes, of course we sang happy birthday to him too!!!!

About Hank: Hank LOVES the desert and to play in it with us. He is so sweet and he lives through all "we" put him "through!" He has ear problems FOREVER and now he just has a little bump(about the size of a golfball!!!) from surgery!!!

Overnighter

On Friday night we got to spend the night at Kristen's! We had a lot of fun. We didn't really play much but we worked a ton on are own accord(that doesn't happen very often except for mucking stalls)! We were working on a room in the shop. We have to climb a latter to get to it! We found some old extra stuff at the bone pile that we used. The best thing that we found was a fan, we found it at the bone pile and we plugged it in and it worked! We went to bed around eleven and we were up by six thirty. We had fun while we worked, some things I did were: cleaning stalls, hauling wood, finding wood, building with wood and some other stuff. We had a great time, we didn't want to leave! Hank also got to come he had a GREAT time also!

Sad but Cute

I couldn't stop from posting this one of Hank after the surgery. This was cute I thought, because he is snoring with his eyes open. He also was wanting to be petted while he was snoring. I didn't know that dogs sleep walked.I thought he was very funny, but it is kinda sad too...

Hank

Yesterday we took Hank to the Vet, because he had a really swollen ear. He had this little pouch filled with bloody fluid. He got to spend the night at the vet office and came home this morning. He was sooo happy to see us. We also got to go to, watch the sugary on Hank. It was very interesting. First they stuck a tube down his throat to help him breath. Then they took a little knife and slit the little pouch of fluid. It came pouring out. Then they stitched it back together again. And gave him this rap that covers a lot of his head.The Vet called Hank messy puppy several times before the sugary was over. It was very cool to watch. This is the second time I've watched a animal in the vets. That includes bloody terror. Hear are some pictures of Hank today...
